You are hereHumility

Why should I be humble,
Feigning to bumble
In the crowd?
I am unbowed
In the pack
Even though I may lack
Their resource.
I have no course,
But the path that's mine
Beating ever through time
In my own rhythm ,
My own vision.
It has been my lot
Since I forgot
The dreary rules of others
That smother
Who never bother to hear my song.
I would be wrong
To abandon myself-
Me on the shelf
To satisfy their need
Their greed,
Planting the seed
Of the loss of me
I'm free you see,
to just be.
