Dog Under the Porch

By jamesaguiar - Posted on 06 February 2010

 I'll stay here
Until it passes
The fear
Away from the masses-
The probing glances
The collective surmise
Their kindless eyes.
There is no hate in the dark
I, on this solitary ark
Can vegetate
On this singular pain,
My pounding brain.
I may never go out from under -
There is no wonder
In this
Terrible bliss
which sucks I out of me
Leaving no doubt
That the future terror
Can easily be weathered By a half-dead mind
Whose life's unwound
On this dark cruel ground
Where misery abounds.
Is there a future-
a life to nurture?
A skeletal grin
Derides the inanity
Ultimately, all is vanity.
