Winter Morning

By jamesaguiar - Posted on 09 February 2010

Winter mornings cling close to the earth:
Cold, unyielding-
The slanted sun's scarce hint of warmth
Is irony to summer's torpor
Becoming winter stupor.
Yet hearty, brave souls
Brave the cold
Muffle, insulated
Their will unabated,
They march forward bold
Hands engloved
They prove a notion
That any motion
Proves each alive
and will survive
In the chill there is distant laughter-
A triumph of the will
That heartier days will come hereafter.
